If you have ever been at a Methode Marlborough event, you'll know that we begin the celebration or event with Sabrage. But what is Sabrage?
In simple terms it is the art of opening a champagne bottle with a swift slide of a saber up the seam of the neck, and into the lip of the bottle. The top and cork is theatrically blown cleanly off.
Some say it was the way Napoleon's cuirassiers or cavalry on horseback opened champagne after victory, and to this day it stands as a noble tradition in celebrations.
